KITABOG, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay, August 31, 2026 — The Titay Municipal Fire Station (MFS) supported the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) by providing emergency response and basic firefighting training to young scouts during the Crew Leaders Training Course held at Kitabog National High School on August 30–31, 2026, equipping them with practical skills and leadership values that can help prepare them as future community leaders and first responders.
On August 30, the Titay MFS Emergency Medical Service (EMS) crew trained the young scouts in basic emergency medical response, including essential first aid and lifesaving skills. The training emphasized the importance of staying calm, assessing an emergency, providing appropriate assistance, and coordinating with professional responders.
On August 31, Titay firefighters continued the training by teaching the scouts basic firefighting and fire safety techniques. The participants learned the importance of fire prevention, hazard awareness, proper response, and teamwork when dealing with fire emergencies.
The two-day engagement provided the scouts with a broader understanding of emergency response, demonstrating that being prepared involves more than knowing what to do during a fire. It also requires leadership, discipline, teamwork, communication, courage, and a commitment to helping others.
For the Titay MFS, supporting the BSP’s youth development programs is an investment in the future. By equipping young scouts with emergency skills and exposing them to the responsibilities of first responders, the BFP helps nurture young people who can contribute to the safety and resilience of their schools, families, and communities.
The activity also strengthens the partnership between the BFP and BSP in promoting a culture of preparedness and service among the youth.
