TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay, August 2, 2026 — Personnel of the Titay Municipal Fire Station (MFS) participated in an early Sunday morning pickleball activity on August 2, 2026, at the public pickleball court beside the fire station, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle as part of their continuing commitment to maintaining operational readiness.

The activity forms part of the station’s wellness program, recognizing that firefighters must maintain peak physical condition to effectively respond to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and other incidents. Through regular physical activities such as pickleball, personnel develop endurance, agility, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness—qualities that are essential in emergency response operations.

Known as one of the fastest-growing sports today, pickleball offers numerous health benefits for people of all ages. It is a low-impact activity that improves heart health, muscle strength, reflexes, flexibility, and mental well-being while reducing stress and encouraging social interaction through friendly competition.

The Titay Municipal Fire Station also encourages the public to take advantage of the public pickleball court, which is open to all residents. The facility operates on a first-come, first-play basis, and users are encouraged to observe the established house rules, including maintaining cleanliness, parking responsibly, and refraining from smoking and consuming alcoholic beverages within the premises.

By opening the facility to the community, the Titay Municipal Fire Station aims to promote not only physical fitness but also camaraderie and active community engagement. The station believes that encouraging healthy lifestyles is another way of building a stronger, safer, and more resilient Titay, where preparedness begins with a healthy body and an active community.
