TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay, July 31, 2026 — The Dasig Titay Pickleballers was formally organized on July 31, 2026, at the newly constructed public pickleball court beside the Titay Municipal Fire Station, bringing together local pickleball enthusiasts to establish court policies, elect officers, and promote responsible use of the facility as part of the municipality’s campaign for healthier and more active communities.
The organizational meeting was facilitated by SFO4 Neil P Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, together with members of the newly formed organization. During the meeting, participants adopted house rules to ensure the orderly operation and proper maintenance of the facility. The agreed policies include designated parking areas for vehicles, playing hours from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., maintaining the cleanliness of the premises and the prohibition of smoking and the consumption of alcoholic beverages within the court.
SFO4 Siaron emphasized that the pickleball court is open to the public, encouraging residents of all ages to engage in physical activity while fostering camaraderie, discipline and sportsmanship. He also announced that the use of the facility will follow a first-come, first-play policy to ensure fair and equal access for everyone.
The organization likewise elected its first set of officers who will lead the promotion and development of pickleball in the municipality. Elected officers are FO2 Cherie Mae M Murro as President, Rossdean Auggie Tumamot as Vice President, Ethyl Reyes as Treasurer, Dianne Badianggo as Secretary, and Renato Crisanto Rodriguez and Kent Pongasi as Public Information Officers.
Mayor Riorita M. Castillo reaffirmed that the pickleball court is a public facility established to encourage physical fitness, recreation and community engagement among Titayanons. She expressed optimism that the facility would inspire more residents to embrace active lifestyles while strengthening friendships and promoting wellness within the community.
The formation of the Dasig Titay Pickleballers marks another milestone in the Municipality of Titay’s commitment to promoting health, recreation, and community participation. Through the collective efforts of the local government, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the newly organized club, the facility is expected to become a venue where sportsmanship, unity and healthy living continue to thrive.
