As part of its ongoing El Niño preparedness and climate change mitigation initiatives, the Titay Municipal Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Neil P Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a monitoring and inspection activity in Barangay Gugawangbugas, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The team assessed the condition of the tree seedlings planted on March 12, 2026, to ensure their healthy growth and survival. In addition, personnel inspected the established firelines in the area, which has been identified as vulnerable to grassfire incidents, to verify their effectiveness and readiness for the dry season.

This proactive initiative highlights the Bureau of Fire Protection’s commitment to environmental protection and disaster risk reduction. By nurturing newly planted trees and maintaining strategic firebreaks, the Titay Municipal Fire Station continues to strengthen community resilience against the impacts of El Niño, climate change, and wildfire hazards—demonstrating that monitoring today is an investment in a safer and greener tomorrow.
