Personnel of the Titay Municipal Fire Station, headed by SFO4 Neil P Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a Training and Orientation on Basic Cave Rescue for the aspiring tourist guides of the MaTiLum Cave Complex.
The activity focused on enhancing participants’ knowledge and skills in basic first aid, basic rescue techniques, emergency response procedures, and the identification of common cave hazards, particularly those involving wildlife and animal encounters. Participants were also oriented on proper safety protocols, risk assessment, and the importance of maintaining visitor safety during cave exploration activities.
The training aimed to equip future tourist guides with the necessary competencies to respond effectively to emergencies and promote a safe and responsible tourism experience within the MaTiLum Cave Complex.
