TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay<\/strong> – July 16, 2026\u2014 The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Titay have reaffirmed their shared commitment to protecting lives and strengthening community resilience through a strengthened partnership focused on disaster preparedness, emergency response and public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading the initiative are SFO4 Neil P Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of the Titay Municipal Fire Station, and 1LT JASPER R UGALI (INF) PA, Company Commander of Bravo “BAGANI” Company, 106th Infantry Battalion. The two leaders pledged to work hand in hand in equipping communities with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the collaboration, the Titay Municipal Fire Station will conduct a series of emergency response trainings for members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) of Bravo Company. The program will include Basic Life Support, First Aid, basic firefighting, disaster preparedness, and rescue techniques, enabling CAFGU personnel to serve as capable first responders in their respective communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the significance of the partnership, SFO4 Siaron said, “From combating oppression to fire suppression, AFP and BFP stand as one in protecting lives and communities.”<\/strong> He emphasized that disaster resilience begins long before an emergency occurs, adding that prepared communities save lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Echoing the same commitment, 1LT JASPER R UGALI (INF) PA underscored the importance of empowering frontline volunteers through continuous training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“By equipping our CAFGU personnel with emergency response skills, we are not only strengthening our force, we are empowering communities with capable first responders who serve with courage, compassion, and commitment.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The partnership reflects a shared vision of both agencies: that public service extends beyond their respective mandates. By combining the BFP’s expertise in fire safety and emergency medical services with the AFP’s presence and leadership in the community, the collaboration creates a stronger and more coordinated response to disasters and emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
