TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay — The Municipality of Titay officially welcomed and received its newly acquired 1,000-gallon firetruck during a blessing and turnover ceremony, marking a significant addition to the municipality’s fire protection and emergency response capabilities.
The ceremony brought together officials from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Local Government Unit of Titay, Philippine National Police (PNP), and other municipal offices, highlighting the strong partnership among government agencies in strengthening public safety and emergency preparedness.
Representing the BFP were FSSUPT NAZRUDYN M CABLAYAN, DSC, Assistant Regional Director for Administration; FSSUPT JACQUELINE S ORTEGA, DSC, Assistant Regional Director for Operations; FSUPT WILFREDO A DAVID, DSC, Regional Chief of Staff; and FSUPT REGGY A OLMEDO, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal of Zamboanga Sibugay.
The acquisition of the firetruck was made possible through the support and commitment of the local and national government, particularly Mayor Riorita “DONRIO” Martinez Castillo, who prioritized the strengthening of the municipality’s emergency response resources.
The new firetruck is expected to improve the capacity of the Titay Municipal Fire Station to respond to fire incidents, rescue operations, and other emergencies, particularly in areas where rapid deployment and adequate firefighting resources are critical.
The BFP also expressed its appreciation to the officials and partners who contributed to making the additional emergency resource possible, including DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, whose support helped advance the acquisition of the much-needed fire apparatus for Titay.
More than a piece of firefighting equipment, the new firetruck represents a shared investment in preparedness, faster response, and the protection of lives and properties. Its arrival strengthens the municipality’s ability to respond when emergencies strike and reinforces the commitment of government agencies to provide safer and more resilient communities.
As the new apparatus begins its mission, the Municipality of Titay and the Bureau of Fire Protection move forward with a common commitment: to be better equipped, better prepared, and always ready to serve every Titayanon when every second counts.
