TITAY, Zamboanga Sibugay, July 26, 2026 — The Titay Municipal Fire Station (MFS) officially welcomed its newly acquired 1,000-gallon Isuzu fire truck through a traditional Wet Down Ceremony on July 26, 2026, marking the beginning of the apparatus’ operational service and reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to strengthening fire protection and emergency response for the people of Titay.
The Wet Down Ceremony is a long-standing fire service tradition that symbolizes the blessing, dedication, and commissioning of a newly acquired fire apparatus before it begins serving the community. In keeping with this tradition, the ceremony was administered by SFO4 Neil P Siaron, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, together with SFO1 Rodgen G Rodriguez. As water cascaded over the fire truck, it symbolized blessings, protection, and the official start of its service to the community. More than a ceremonial rite, it marked the beginning of the apparatus’ mission to protect lives, safeguard properties, and faithfully serve the people of Titay with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
The addition of the new 1,000-gallon Isuzu fire truck significantly enhances the operational capability of the Titay Municipal Fire Station, enabling firefighters to respond more effectively to fires, rescue operations, and other emergencies. The acquisition reflects the municipality’s continuing investment in modernizing its emergency response resources to better serve the growing needs of the community.
